I thought I could fix this problem myself after googling, but after a week now, I'm fed up and need this fixed!

About a week go I was surfing listening to some music when all of a sudden my comp froze and the music was looping. After restarting, my sound was gone! Windows doesn't even detect the card. (x-fi music)

These are the things that I've tried:

-uninstalled all creative drivers and reinstalled
-uninstalled & reinstalled my motherboard drivers
-tried the latest xp drivers on the creative site
-moving the sound card to my other free pci slot (only have two)
-installed windows 7 (same problem)
-and finally, bought a new sound card (x-fi gamer)

After all of this, nothing's worked to get my sound back! I'm now out about a week of time troubleshooting this, $100 for the new sound card, and my patience.

If anyone can help fix this problem asap, I'd be willing to send $10 via paypal.

changed systems and now i don't have sound get yellow question mark on problem devices like multimedia audio control,l modem, and ,video what can i do ??? plz help
