Multimedia Audio and Video Controller Driver Issues

Hello! I just recently reinstalled windows to fix the better part of my best friends computer issues. But upon reinstalling windows all of her drivers were wiped. I reinstalled all of the basic intel motherboard drivers yet for some reason she still remained without sound. I installed the intel recommended audio drivers several times over to no avail. I know that the problem is that in the device manager I can see her audio and video controllers but it has the infamous yellow question mark meaning it sees it but doesn't know how to use it. Any recommendation as to what to do for this problem?

Here are her computer specs pulled up using Everest:

which Sony model does she have, if not sure get Belarc, copy and paste the report but leave out the win update section and the Software Licence section it gives your Win Product code
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

this is video driver from nVidia http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions
