Help with HP Pavilion video drivers

Hello,

I recently had to format my computer, and now I can't get the graphics card to work . I installed Windows XP and after some research I've been doing I found that my notebook is not compatible for XP, because it was designed for vista, so I can't find drivers for XP on the HP page.

I tried downloading the drivers from NVDIA, but they don't work either...

Here are the specifications from everest:

Computer:
Computer Type Equipo multiprocesador ACPI (Mobile)
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional
OS Service Pack Service Pack 2
Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11 (IE 7.0)
DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c)
Computer Name COLOSSUS
User Name Administrador
Logon Domain COLOSSUS
Date / Time 2009-09-20 / 17:16

Motherboard:
CPU Type Mobile DualCore AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60, 2000 MHz (10 x 200)
Motherboard Name Hewlett-Packard
Motherboard Chipset nVIDIA nForce 7150M-630M, AMD Hammer
System Memory 2944 MB (DDR2 SDRAM)
BIOS Type Phoenix (04/24/08)

Display:
Video Adapter nVIDIA GeForce 7150M
3D Accelerator nVIDIA GeForce 7150M

Multimedia:
Audio Adapter nVIDIA MCP67 - High Definition Audio Controller

If this maybe can't be easily fixed on XP, I'd like to ask your help on how to install a trendnet tu-et100c adapter on vista since I think the video drivers for vista are easily found, but I wouldn't have internet. I've only found on trendet page drivers for win XP and below, and it didn't recognize the device on windows vista when I tried.. (I've also tried vista to make my computer work )

Any help is much appreciated!

from what I can find, this appears to be the driver you need
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRA...Go-15655.shtml

Set a System Restore Point before installing any drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

Thank you bookworm!

The link you gave me actually worked, so now I'm using my pavilion laptop again, thank you!.

I still have sound issues, though (issues = sound is not working, when I go to control panel / sound and audio dispositives, it says "there is not any audio dispositive" ). I downloaded "nVIDIA MCP67 - High Definition Audio Controller" from HP page, but it didnt work, any clue of what might be happening??

what model do you have, if not sure get Belarc, copy and paste the report but leave out the win update section and the Software Licence section it gives your Win Product code It should pin model down

Hello, I downloaded belarc and ran the report, but it didn't detect any sound devices I think, here is the image:

http://img148.yfrog.com/img148/2212/belarcstatus.jpg

(I couldn't c/p the report in a readable way)

I tried to search in everest, and it seems to detect something (I guess, i dont know if what everest says its generic):

"Multimedia / Windows Audio" is empty.

"Multimedia / PCI PnP Audio" says:
Device Description: Conexant Unknown @ nVIDIA MCP67 - High Definition Audio Controller.
Type: PCI.

Vista drivers are here:

You actually have a Realtek sound card in your machine. Hence reason the Nvidia 1 you installed, didn't work

it shows Realtek and Conexant as possible audio drivers - Realtek is here- be careful and set a Restore Point before installing
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

HP offer no driver for XP, so can't be sure this will work
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...&idx=1&mode=4&

look at System Requirements you need the M$ UAA installed first SP32646
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...reg_R1002_USEN

check if installed
Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager
System Devices / Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture should be installed

Set a System Restore Point before installing any drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

Neither of them worked . The realtek driver installed succesfully but sound still doesn't work. MUAA was already installed.

When I go to My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager > Sound, Video and Games Devices it shows "Realtek High Definition Audio" with a " ! " on it, and when I click on properties it says "this device cannot start (code 10)".

try installing this way

1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device ( or audio device Realtek, Soundmax C-Media etc ) and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish.

Don't forget the Restore Point
