Dell Laptop Sound is Muffled/Fuzzy

Hi,
I have restarted my Dell Laptop and the sound is not working properly. All actions that have sound associated with them produce the sound but it is very quite and fuzzy. To me it sounds like a blown speaker but I am really not sure how this would happen, especially as I was using the laptop yesterday and the sound was working fine.

Any ideas?
