Downloading Casio Drivers, Is it Safe?

I have a Casio LV-10 digital camera. I have windows xp-home and I need a driver for the camera. I've gone to sites that have this driver for download but when I try to install it I get a message saying that the compatibility has not been verified and it may impair or destabilize the correct operation of my system.

At the download sites they say to ignore this message and to choose continue anyway.

Is this a wise thing to do?

You should be OK downloading from the manufacturers site.

I have to agree with LooseChippings. I would go ahead and do it.
When I got a new computer with the XP Home version (probably one of the first ones out), everything I tried to download or install would tell me it wasn't safe. I went back to the store where I bought it, and they assured me that I could download the drivers that I needed by going to the manufacturers websites, even though the computer would always give me a message saying that it wasn't digitally signed by microsoft. I cringed everytime I clicked on download anyway, but it worked and didn't hurt a thing.
I won't tell you to "just do it".... But I would......

Most 3rd party XP drivers do not carry a digital signature because it costs them to have the testing done and for microsoft to aknowledge them as 'safe drivers' ( all part of a Micro$haft cash-in)

Providing the driver is for the right device, and from a trusted source, you should have no problems.
