olivetti studiojet 300
My husband just bought the olivetii studiojet printer/scanner etc. Unfortunetly it is suitable for WIN 98. Where can I download drivers that will adapt it to WIN XP?

You must update your 'Firmware' before installing the XP Drivers.

What is firmware?
I have tried to download this but I get a message that I am not the administrator (huh? this is a home computer, I AS the administrator) and that certain files are not accessabile.
Have I wasted 150$ on this printer?

Basically firmware is the program inside a piece of hardware.

Cell phones, printers, CD Drives etc all use firmware, it could be compared to the BIOS on your PC Motherboard.

You need to go into Control Panel > Users to check your account type and permissions.

Join DriverGuide here http://www.driverguide.com/

Then log onto site and follow this path to your driver

Top left under Drivers / Search / choose Simple / filter - from dropdown list choose Printer/Plotter/Multi Office / leave at Any OS /model: type studiojet 300 There is your driver. Read installation notes.
