Unhappy USB ports dead..Will "re-flashing" BIOS help?

Hi Guys

I have an "exchanged" motherboard from FIC, its the AN11--and the company sent me this board, with DEAD USB ports!(total of 4)

The company is in Taiwan, and it took a month for them to send me this garbage--and I do not want to suffer with another "lamer" board, so is there a way to "re-flash" the motherboard--to make it SEE the USB ports??

If not, would any of you gentlemen know of a cable, that can "convert" my Lexmark X83 USB printer--to accept a PARALELL cable, so I can use my printer/scanner?

There isn't a "crying" Icon available, so take it from me--I am truly crying!!....HELP

Bye now, and thanks to those that can help

How about an add-on USB PCI card?

Are your BIOS Settings correct for USB? ...

OnChip USB Controller

Disable this option if you are not using the onboard USB feature.

The options are:

All Disabled,
All Enabled,
1&2 USB Port,
2&3 USB Port,
1 USB Port,
2 USB Port,
3 USB Port.

I would promptly return the board to the company that sent it to you... Request a refund, should they refuse, it's only one call to the credit card company and a few papers to fill out and justice will be served.

I had to do that a few years ago... yeah its a bit of a pain but if you own a company sending something and it's D.O.A. then you had better be willing to make it right.
