Problem with all USB ports on brand new computer, please help!

Okay, I just got a 128mb jumpdrive and a HP Pavilion a305w. My mouse is hooked up to 1 of 6 USB ports and works fine. I when to plug my jumpdrive in the front two ports and nothing happened. Went to the back and the bottom two didn't work either. So when I plugged it in the port beside the mouse port, it came up. I transferred my info and pulled it out. I go to plug it back in and it now doesn't want to recognize it in any ports. Where in the world do I start to troubleshoot this? This is a brand new computer! I did a lot of XP tweaks, could I have messed it up?

Even though USB ports are backword compatiable, I'm not sure if Lexar component are, because what you got is USB 1.x (see the detail on this link)

And your computer has 5 USB 2.0 ports, See detail:

see if you can get the latest driver for Lexar drive from thier web site (even though they say that you don't need a driver),,, I bought a Lexar JumpShot cable and sure as hell I used it only few times,, It would lock my Win2k system and I had a hell of a time to get it working with my laptop.

cheers

I figured out what the problem was, the jumpdrive wasn't in all the way. I have the jumpdrive on my keychain and the keys were weighing one side down too much for tthe computer to recognize it. Thanks anyways.
