3d problems with nvidia gforce 440mx

When I play 3d games on my nvidia gforce 440mx card, I ave problems. You can see the framework on anyting 3d but that's all. I have the latest drivers and direct x 9.0b installed but no joy. Can anyone help

what operating system are you using, what size processor, and how much ram?

windows xp pro and 512 meg of ram

i have a nvidia card also and had simular problems when i first got it. what i did and have had good results from, go to start, run type
msconfig
click ok and go to the startup tab, take out the nvidia startup items and apply, exit without reboot.
now go back to start, run, type
services.msc
find nvidia driver helper, right click it, select properties, set the startup type to disabled. reboot and see if this has any effect.
i have better luck using directX 8.1, but some new games require dx9.
