Thumbs up E mail

Thanks for the mail team
Yep, a small band return on a regular basis, an even smaller group less so. Most people treat it as they would manufacturer online support, ie only go there when it's needed.
Perhaps the forums should diversify?

Deversify in what way?

I'm newer here but like the fact that the forums are uncluttered and easy to use.

Same here, this is my online home from home.

I'm not sure what would work. What about a thread aimed at new members asking what would keep them coming back?

That might work....

I check here almost daily to see what tid bits of information I can pick up. I find it helpful...

What I see a lot of site have are guides for doing certain things. Like...Installing XP from format to web surfing. Video Card Tweaking A to Z. Working through network errors. And things like that...

IMHO what keeps folks coming back to a tech site are active posters with good information that are willing to help others... I think Software Tips & Tricks is on the right track with this..

A thread aimed at new users is a good idea. This is already a good place for beginners to get help from more experienced users, but consolidating beginner advice in 1 thread might be less confusing or intimidating to someone who has never seen a sight like this.

Another thread might be aimed at "the other PC issues" (Politically Correct). For example, a thread entitled "Microsoft Buys Evil From the Devil". We seem to already have members who have strong opinions on that issue.

Or, a thread dedicated to the pros and cons of switching to Apple or Linux.

These issues already pop up in various places on the site but creating a home thread for them might help focus ideas in 1 place.
