The forums were down for a while during the move & update... now my password manager in Mozilla Firefox won't save my account password! What happened? Shades of hotmail (which I stopped using for this very reason)!

Nothing has changed. Can you try again? Saving password is done on your side (Firefox).

You can also tick "Remember Me?" while login.

I have logged back on several times with no luck. Firefox saves my user name but not the password now. I do click "Remember Me", but with most sites that just sets a cookie. I use password manager because I set my preferences in Firefox to only allow cookies for the current session, I don't save them. Until the server change /upgrade of this forum, the password manager was working well...

Looks like a bug in FireFox since this new forums login uses md5password thing.

It could be Firefox's fault... I'll post a Bugzilla report on it to be sure. Thanks for your input.

Hmmm... who to believe here... I've been assured by the folks at Firefox that if my password manager was working before the upgrade /sever move here at softwaretipsandtricks.com, and not after, the problem lies with your end. Common sense would tend to agree with them. Any ideas? I don't keep cookies past the current session, never have, but before the recent changes here the password manager was able to get me back in without re-entering my user ID & password. Now, Firefox remembers my user name & enters it, but no password.

No its not cookie related.

The upgraded forum uses md5 encryption.

To me it looks like Firefox can't save md5 passwords.

I'm not 100% sure though.
