Changes to Stop Spam Posts
Lately there has been huge increase in spam posts (10+ posts / day!).
I have made few changes which should help reduce the spam posts.
The only change registered members would notice is, now you can't edit your old posts after 30 minutes.
This is to stop spammers posting an okay looking message and later modifying to porn / for sale / drugs related messages.

Hey Tool .... What do you think about people adding to posts threads that are out dated , I have notice they just post for the first time and its usually a very old post that they are adding their opinion or question to ..

I was thinking of installing a mod which would warn the member when he try's to post in a thread which is older than 60 days, but it may lead to many new similar threads.

Also noticed your Flood time is set to 60 seconds. A friend had his site hit with a script and they had the repost set to 60 seconds. Might be worth considering an increase.

Why are people so hard up, that they need to spam?

Its okay in signature as long as the post is related to the thread.

When a spam comment is removed, it doesn't appear to be removed from the comment count, leaving some threads appearing to have been replied to, but which in fact, haven't.
I generally scan (as I suppose others do too), for new threads with no replies, and spammed threads show a reply, despite the spam post being deleted.
(Yes I realise I said the same thing twice, but in totally different ways.)
Could the post count also be reset/subtracted from when the spam post is deleted?
Hope everyone's well btw.

Yes, because its retrieved from the cache memory which is not updated in real-time.
To speed the page delivery and minimize resource usage, cache is only updated when there is a new post.
