I'm out of here!

The site has to be paid for somehow, but wow! I never realised ad implementation here was so bad until I tried it with no protection!
Usually i see nothing. Now I see everything.
So for many reasons, mainly the way things work here, I'm off.
For anyone I've "left hanging". Sorry. PM me if you need.

Bye dudes, take care of yourself.

SoftwareTipsandTricks has been following this format for 4+ years.

If your logged in:
Advert on top, very small advert on bottom
Once every 12 hours: 2 popups OR 1 full page advert and a popup

If your not logged in:
same as above + advert after 1st post and 5 text link ads in posts

In comparison:
Microsoft with 10+ billion profit every year has adverts on top, between content and on bottom of MSN. Sometimes popup and full page adverts too.

Google with 4+ billion profit every year has adverts on top and on right side (full till bottom).

SoftwareTipsandTricks is 100 billion times smaller and its advert rates (amount we get for adverts) is MANY times less than those of MSN / Google.

I wondered where you were!

M$ and google have nothing to do with it. I don't offer my free time to help others via their service.

Done via firefox when not logged in:
The popup at the top and small ones are no probs. Like I said, you need to keep things rolling.

But click any thread:
I get a poker popup, then a small one requesting me to take part.
Close that one and another gets in your face to make sure you still want to decline.
That's harrassment.

That looks like a sneaky advert and certainly not acceptable.

I will check the adverts running and remove it.

SoftwareTipsandTricks uses an advertisement agency. Those kinds of popups are not allowed even by the agency, sometimes advertisers sneak in extra popups.

Maximum of 2 popups are allowed in 12 hour period, and it should not open any new window unless something on advert is clicked.

I don't see anything Monty. Just the board.
I hate "in yer face" ads. If you say no, that's it. Anyway, looks like the Tool is sorting It.

Monty, you're a Vista man right? Did you install the validation tool?

People have reported annoying adverts before and many adverts have been removed too. There is nothing to hate here.

Hi Tool, just a question...this is one of the better sites on the net, how come you don't have computer companies ect adertise on this site. I don't even bother looking at any of the adverts that come up here.

Its not worth the time and money for advertisers to deal with small sites individually.

Just like companies (Intel, Apple, Coca-Cola etc...) don't deal with small buyers like you and me directly.
