1. People answer in their free time.
2. People might not know the answer.
3. Check out "How to Get Your Questions Answered" thread for tips.

Does it indeed? Then why do you keep coming back, eh?

This board is frequented by mainly users looking for an answer. None technical, or people with experience who have hit a brick wall, or are simply looking for a quick fix. It's far from dead.

It is the nature of none techies that they are not sure if other threads might relate to their prob, so a new question direct from them will get the most rellevent answer.
Unfortunately, to those in the know, It appears the same issue is brought up time after time, and indeed it is. So the questions may get ignored.
You are expected to read threads that are of a similar nature to your problem. The answer will allmost certainly materialise.

I suggest your question has been answered many fold, SRSLY. You don't understand how to work your way through the info and apply it to your situation, so you feel ignored.
You are not alone, but self education is the key.

Does that make sense?

haha but i didn't ask the question

I just said it was dead because i went to chit chat and most threads hadn't gotten any replies in the past few weeks. But i can understand what your saying, i've been on a lot of forums and when you become an established member, you just ignore the noobs. Its standard practice.

By the way if you were referring to my problem, then i'll just say thats the reason i didn't post a thread on it because i did suspect it had been asked before. I really am a complete amateur when it comes to computers, and i can't differentiate from similar problems, hence why i asked you personally.

Does that make sense?

No it's not. It's the whole point of this boards existence.
Check the current number of users perusing this board, then look at the number of members online. The seekers far outweigh the people answering.

precisely what I stated before. It's not a problem.

No wonder hip hop isn't very popular then.

Hi SRSLY, I would disagree entirely, will all try to give our time to help others and at the same time, we have to find time for work, family ect. I sent a PM to the topic creator a week ago asking if they had solved the problem but recieved no response. Sometimes a few slip through the net. If you think its a bit dead have a look at the forum regulars like Bookworm and Disk Contented, they have been helping for years....and I say to all of them WELL DONE PEOPLE!
