Too many sound problems

Just a question:

Why are there so many people who have problems with their sound, especially after reformating or erasing some files???

Can't we have a FAQ section so that the number of people who keep getting these problem will somewhat decrease.

Preventing the problem would be as good as solving it. I would also like to know how to NOT get these sound problems, "sound device missing" or any other things...

*didnt really know where to post this... anyway, im suggesting the FAQ section *

Hi Hypark, TBH that's why I found your forum, sound problems.
I would have thought that the # of permutations of problems made it difficult to offer a "one size fits all" answer.
All problems that occur are "Duh, simple" to someone, it's the rest of us poor schmucks that are trying to climb the greasy pole.
It's no problem at all to guide someone to the solution that is elsewhere on the forum, imho that is what forums are for, otherwise you just stick up an FAQ and shut down the posting.

Yes, there are too many Sound Driver related problems; But, whose fault is it?

It's certainly not the end users', who rightly try to find a solution to their problem on sites such as this.

Yes, there's too many threads also, and too many people jumping on the same thread.

But, equally, it's not their fault again.

In between the too many posts and too many jumping on threads are people who can't sort it themselves and people who don't really understand what's gone on before. Where, after all, are you going to find your answer in 1000 threads or in 14000 posts in one?

A "Sound Specific Problems" forum would be handy, but in it's absence, I think this solution is as good as you're going to get.

And, again, I really have to hand it to Barbara; one of the most forgiving, understanding and stalwart (if not THE), helpers here.

(If she's cool with it, who am I to differ?)
