Lost passwords

I have posted my comments on a thread asking how to overcome the fact that the user had lost a password. Personally, I think it should be forum policy NOT to offer solutions to such a problem. How is anyone to know whether or not the user has an honest or dishonest reason for asking such a question?

Security is a very serious issue these days.

There is no way to know. Member is given benefit of doubt.
