Lightbulb Playstation 3!!

Look at this info..this is the info that Sony gave out when they patented the hardware in the PS3 and the cell processor. They didnt give out a whole lot, but what they did give out is amazing! Look at the speed of the ram. Just like it said in the other topic about the new Rambus XDR RAM, Sony is gonna use the new XDR RAM, but sony gave out an intense clock speed-6.4 GHz!! I dunno if its possible, as the article said it would go 3.2 GHz, but Sony said 6.4GHz, so whatever. Also, look at the processor clock speed- 4+ GHz!! I think sony's really got a supercomputer in the making... Here's the info:

8 Identical Attached Processing Unit (APU): ??? bits, Single Instruction, Multiple Data (SIMD)

Clock Frequency: 4+GHz

Integer Unit: 4 X Integer Units: 32 billion operations per second (32 GOPS).

4 X Floating Point Units: 32 billion floating point operations per second (32 GFLOPS)

im from japan and have seen the project! all of the info that you have said is right! actually sony was aiming for the speed of playstation 3, 1000 times the speed of Playstation2,
but due to hectic and lack of time before they release it! they only produce 6 times the speed of PS2! PS3 is due on early 2005

Looking at the spec from a laymans point of view it looks like they are nailing 8 x 500 Mhz processors together and everything else is calculated as 8 times the actual speed.
