ok im not sure if this is the right place to put this but here goes.
i just got an xbox like a week ago. its really cool but i want to get xbox live up and running. i have everything i need. i have cat5 (tons, like 60 feet total between the 3), xbox live starter kit, and a switch (linksys ezx255w). i have all of the cables set up and everything. i have the switch connected to only one computer so i had to set up the network using the network setup wizard. i got my modem to work through the switch but my xbox does not see the connection. i everywhere i look it says that its pretty much plug and play but its not working for me.
could it be the fact that the cat5 running to my xbox is like 50 feet long? is that too long for cat5, i think i have seen 50 foot ones in stores (i made this one with a kit). is my switch not the right kind? (xbox.com says that they need to have ICMP, MTU and NAT but i do not know any thing about these, and i got the switch from a friend so i dont really know much about it either)
i have no idea what the problem is PLZ HELP
