Doom 3

One of the scariest game of the year. Well suppose.

I'm interetesd in buying the game. BUT before I do that. I want to make sure that my fps is decent while playing the game.

I read some article on how to prepare for Doom 3.

It's asking for ATi 9600 XT 128MB or up graphics card. Now, the thing is I don't have ATi card.

I'm using GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128MB.

9600 XT vs Ti 4200.

Which card is better?

ok I figure out that the 9600 XT is better than the Ti 4200.

Can someone show me a diagram of the 9600 XT performance over Ti 4200?

I'm trying to get ready for Doom 3 and Half Life 2.

I have a sapphire radeon 9600XT with 256 RAM, and I can play mine on high everything but only on 800 x 600 resolution.

As you can see the rest of my computer isn't exactly slow, so if I was you id get the 9800 XT with 256 RAM, or if you are going to get an nVidia, get one of the top ones out of the FX range, leave the geforce alone.

Try google for a chart.

i have a amd 1.5ghz system with almost 1gb of ram and a geforce 3 ti 128mb grafix card and doom 3 runs like it was made for my machine i run it with everything on max in 1024x768 and its perfect not even a skip anywhere even when theres movement on the whole screen, i think you will be fine with the geforce if you have enough system ram and processor speed, it ran kinda laggy on my 1ghz machine with the same ram and vid card but after i upgraded to the faster cpu its MUCH better

I had a Ti4200 & it worked well (no Doom3 at that time) I found a overclocking utility for the Ti4200 that worked very well. If the VGA starts to overheat it automatically returns it to default. I was able to OC it to a little better than a 4400. I found the utility at Major Geeks in the video section.
