Sidewinder 3d Pro--

I have windows 98 and the Sidewinder 3d pro. But i have to reboot several times to get it connected! And if i reboot when it is connected it becomes disconnected and i have to reboot like 8 times in a row to get it connected again!!! What should i do???

USB or Serial?

Try deleting the device in Hardware Manager and re-installing the drivers (you will be asked to do so when the PC reboots).

If that doesn't work, try the unit on a friend's PC, and see if it does the same thing on THAT machine- if so you know it's likely the joystik and a repair/replacement might be warrented.

It could also be the USB hub driverson the MB. Via USB hub has a known issue...

There is a file fix on the MS sidewinder site that helped when we had problems on my husbands comp.

Just a thought.
