Unhappy An issue with eMachines T2958

I have an eMachines T2958 (yes, I know its not a gaming computer, don't rub it in) and I was wondering if I could replace its motherboard? My grandma bought me this computer a few months ago and I don't have the money to buy a brand new one all over again. The reason why I want a new motherboard is because since the eMachines T2958 has no AGP slot at all, I want to get a motherboard with an AGP slot so I can get on with my life and stop stressing over this issue. Will it be possible to replace the motherboard? If so, will it reconize an AGP slot?

eMachines T2958
Windows XP Home edition with service pack 2
512 DDR SDRAM
Intel Celeron D 330 at 2.66 Ghz
80 GB hard drive
intel extreme graphics
4 PCI slots

Also, if this is not possible at all, should I go for the ATI Radeon 9250 PCI card? I know PCI cards aren't that good anymore, but I want to run 3D games good like RollercoasterTycoon 3.

My suggestion is check with your local puter stores. We have a local store here that takes trade ins. This way you can keep the hard drives, cd players, case, & anything else to save money. As far as the pci cards I have never had any experience with them.

Question ???? More QUESTIONING!! ????

Cool, so, If i get a mobo with an AGP slot since my current one doesn't have one, will it replace the backside of the computer case? You know, the side with all the color coded plugs for the monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc? I mean, am I gonna know where to put in that AGP card?

As far as I know all agp slots are different color than the pci & spaced differently from the back of the case. When you open your puter you will see the difference. And yes the plugins you refered to on the back are attached to the motherboard. Except if you have a pci modem for dialup internet.

Well, I do have a pci modem in the back for dial-up. Should I just take it off? I mean, I use broad band and I have never used the phone line for this comp. Is this a problem?

Not a problem at all. If you do take it out you would just have to buy a piese to cover the hole. You can leave it in.
