Exclamation T7g

I'm trying to reinstall The 7th Guest onto my new XP Pro system. For some reason there is some type of "XML Error" when trying to run the game after install ( which I assume was done successfully, as there were no problems ).

confused:

I was hoping someone would be able to help me figure out why this is. Thanks.

Is it an older game? Were you running it in XP before with no problems? You can right click on the game's icon - pick properties - compatibility mode - pick 98/ME.

Question ?

I did the compatibility change, but it still gives me an error. It's a dos game, if that has anything to do with it.

the exact error is as follows:

"Error: A XMS manager with at least 1024K free is required"

XMS is a procedure for ram. You may not have enough ram. XP is a resource hog. Running XP, Dos and who know what else in the background (lol, I have 33 processes running as I write) maybe eating up your memory. Try freeing up some ram. I hope this helps...good luck

Thumbs up DosBox

I use DosBox for all old games. It's a dos simulator that allows you to use old MCGA, SVGA games, etc

Install t7g as as usual in windows. Choose the Soundblaster 16.

Then launch DosBox. Mount the cdrom and hard drive and start playing.
