gamepad prob with xp pro

I have a firestorm duel power pad.
It works fine exept for the force feedback. All of the games I have with force feedback support do not recognise that my pad has it... Any idea's?
Thanks...

Is it a Gameport or USB pad? - if its gameport then that might be your problem as offically XP does not support gameport devices (as I found out with my Saitek steering wheel). They will work, but not usually to full effect.....and Microsoft or the hardware companies are not exactly strugging to write drivers either...

Force-feedback via a gameport usually uses the MIDI channels to transmit the necessary information, and requires specific driver coding. Under XP most game-port devices WILL work (usually via the "generic" XP drivers), however "extra" functions like force-feedback and some extra buttons (especially programmable ones) probably will not work. This problem is not helped by the fact that most hardware manafacturers are not interested in writing XP drivers for gameport devices, as they just want everyone to buy their latest USB-devices..........nice.
