Space Cadet Pinball Strategies: Anybody?

Guys,

I can not believe how annoying this game is!!!! I have gotten highs of around 12 million and just as many games that are over before they begin. Is the game really that random? Or am I just not doing something right? Please note that I am not interested in learning any cheat codes for the game or anything like that. What I am interested is in any strategies that you have used to keep your games going longer. I just go crazy on the flippers and try to get that damn ball to go where I want it to go! LOL! But there has to be some forms of physics or keyboard strategies that can be used so that you can at least get to Ensign level each time.

You should be going for the Hyperspace Chute and the ramp as much as possible, correct? Is there any pattern or strategy for getting more extra balls or do you just have to pray that you get them when you get a replay when the ball goes in the worm holes? This game seems to have a "sixth sense" of knowing when you are doing well, and more often than not tries to make things difficult for you when you are doing well. What are some good ideas?

Jack

Refreshing to see a post about a real mans game...

First of all, please tell me you use the right and left arrow keys for control of the paddles, if not, please change that.
what I tend to do is NOT randomly fire the paddles, that results in nothing but bad news. I hold down the arrow keys keeping the paddles in the up position, allowing the ball to rest there and then I can decide what to do with it there.

Accuracy is everything. You have to learn to time your shots right so the ball goes exactly wherever you want it go (whether it be re-entry or basic training.)

when ever I get high score the high score box never appers. I know I get a high score because I even cleared the high score list.
