AoE III is graphics intensive ........

To determine your graphics card go to

My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device manager > Display adapter > expand the folder.

EDIT: AoE III Minimum Specs,

1.4GHz P4, or equivalent
256MB RAM
64MB 3D card
Windows XP
2GB hard drive space

Have you tried toning down the graphic details in the game menu?

If you disable sound that should make the game go alot faster also.

It is a 32mb card, the minimum specs say 64mb, I'm surprised the game runs at all.

Manufacturer: SIS
Model: SIS 650_651_740
Chipset: SIS 650_651_740
Interface: AGP 8x
Memory Size: 32.00 MBytes

Belarc Advisor or PC Wizard will diagnose your systems hardware, d/load and run them to identify your hardware

Yes, I agree, time for a new video card

My card (see sig) is the last of the Top of the Line AGP cards, there are still some AGP cards available though they are becoming harder to source now with the advent of PCI-e, a 6600 or 6800GT (256mb) should play all recently released games with ease.
