Error in Installing Generals, Help please :(

Hi there,

I've a serious problem installing Command and Conquer Generals from the CDs.

When I click install .. waiting for the installation to start .. an error comes up saying that "_is17.tmp" file has encountered an error so Setup will not continue !! Sorry for inconvenience ?!!

Although I tried the same CDs with my friend & it worked just fine. I really don't know what's wrong in my PC .. May be spyware ?!! virus ??!! hardware conflict ?!! btw, I've a good AV & good system configuration.

the problem is your disks, what you need to do, is if you have the recept if you just got it, take it back for an exact exchange, if not, install your friend's copy, run it, when in the opening menu, click options, look at the bottom of the pop up menu, it will have the version of the game, ex 1.0, 1.5, etc.
GET A NO-CD CRACk matching that version, there are a few at www.gamecopyworld.com, that should fix it!!

How many CDrom drives do you have?

Try it in the other drive if possible.
This will determine if its the drive or not.
