I enjoyed this game very much. "Maplestory" It isn't much like Runescape but it's very addicting.

My favorite is 2moons... www.2moons.acclaim.com

You dont have to pay to play. there is the option to pay for more features/items.

Acclaim also has many other games.

And they are not text based and dont suck at all

If you are looking for an AWESOME game pplay 2moons. I LOVE THEM!

to be honest i doubt there are any games (exept world of warcraft maybe) that can match up to the likes of runescape...... so just stick with runescape or find a completely different game all together!!! =]
