Xbox live- laggy connection...

I have a Linksys WRT54G Wireless router and the xbox 360 brand router for my 360 (wireless) My NAT is at Open when i test my connection. I can normally join games and do alright but if i try to host then everyone laggs and eventually quits. Occasionally i will experience lagg when joining games. My NAT was at moderate and I followed a few steps to get it to Open trying to better my connection but i notice no change(off an online forum).I think the problem is the connection strength light(on the 360 dashboard) shows yellow, but I have no idea to better it to get it to green. I only think that's the problem because i don't really know. If anyone knows anything or can help i would greatly appreciate it......

your problem is you are using wireless. Wireless is inferior compared to a wired connection.

yes best to use wired on xbox live and ps2 /ps3 online...thats the one disadvantage..with consoles via wireless. also did you know xbox 360 has one flaw..the pillocks used just white paste for the heatsinks,,you would have thought the price of a console they would have used artic silver 5 grease..the ammount of users i have heard saying there getting the dreaded 3 lights up..basically..when you buy a xbox 360...you have to physically remove the case and use a better heat transfer paste on the gpu and cpu processors..the average life span they say before you get problems is 3 to 8 months...heat issues are bad in summer..you need a fan blowing on the console to try to keep it cool. i am sure microsoft should have sorted this problem out.

update microsoft are changing the cpu,s on the xbox..as the old cpu,s are 90 nm there changing them to 65 nm SOI ..reason for this change,,is the xbox fan sounds like a jet engine..why the hell did they not put 65 nm cpus in the first place..65 mn cpus have been out for 18 months .. anyway they should be out by the end of 2007 ..the xbox elite has 65nm cpu ...i have been told..anyone thinking of getting a xbox 360 core or premium,, i would wait until the 65 nm are out..it will make them alot quieter ,,and also heat will not be a issue,,, as the run much cooler.
