Unhappy Game problems

I have been having problems with some games.
When I go into gameplay, there's horizontal and vertical tearing.
If I change the graphics settings, it stops for a while, but then comes back in the next area!
Any help would be great!

Games that it happens to:
- F.E.A.R. Demo (Just the lighting)
- Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (Not in Multi-Player, just Single)
- DOOM 3
- Halo: Combat Evolved
- Warhammer: Mark Of Chaos (VERY Minor)

Games that it doesnt occur in:
- Alien vs Predator 2
- Settlers 3
- Sims

Try to update your video card to latest drivers....but card could be on the way out or you may have an overheating problem in your PC.=....clean fans and inside case with a can of compressed air from a electronics store http://www.directron.com/cleaning.html
