Microsoft force feedback pro joystick

I have tried to install the software for this older joystick on my xp home. New computer. dell 2.8, 512 ram, 9700 pro vid card. Keep getting this message "A limitation exist with yur computer resources or configuration. Setup cn't install Microsoft sidewinder device software on your current operating system".

Tried the to find Microsoft new software. Looks like they supported up to win 98 and stopped. Any ideas on how i can get this to work?

Any help would be really appreciated. Battle field 1942 awaits.

It is a Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro. I hate to throw this one away and buy a new one because a lack of downloadable software.

Thats life in the fast lane. Hardware and software change so rapidly. Be prepared to spend money upgrading.

I play BF2 online also my friend. MS does not support MSFF pro on WinXP. Like me, you will have to upgrade to a MSFF 2, their latest one out whicjh will work with XP. eBay has several on bid. There are many other joysticks that will work but if you are like me, the FFB's are the best sticks ever produced. I hate it to they no longer enen make the product
