3D problem

Hey,

I have a Radeon 9200 SE on a Pent 3- 450mhz XP os. None of my 3D games work. When i run dxdiag it says everything is ok and working properly. BUT......when i click the test 3D button as soon as the 3D pic appears my computer locks completely. Does anyone have a suggestion. I loaded the card with the disk that came with it,and it says it supports XP.

Thanks in advance.

Run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool ...

Start > Run > dxdiag > OK

Let us know if you find the problem.

you know on the other hand with older slower equipment directX9 may be a bit beefy, if they have it they may have overextended the system.

Have you tried getting the latest driver update, it will most likely have a few fixes in it. Because if your using the one from your disk it’s probably one of the not so stable ones.

3d problem

could just be the video card, my ti4200 was bad but it passed all of the directX tests just wouldnd play 3d, locked up every time. Look at the card and you may be able to even see some burn marks on some of the electrical components or the even see a capacitor (miniature battery type thing) bulging at the top, those suckers can get hot in a hurry especially in an old case.
