1.6 Problem

Well, I've been playing on Steam for quite some time now with no problems but today I got an error message that said:

Half-Life Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I clicked a button for more info and was presented with this:

Error signature

AppName: hl.exe AppVer: 1.1.1.1 ModName: dinput.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.1106 Offset: 00017fcb

What the heck is this crap? Is this supposed to make sense to anybody? Seemingly random combinations of letters and numbers is somehow supposed to show me what the hell the problem is?! *sigh* Well, if any of you know what to do then tell me. I've tried reinstalling Half-Life and it's latest updates along with Steam, all to no avail, the same message rears it's ugly head again. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Haha. Wow Wick3d. You seem to have lots of Steam problem.

Ok. Let me ask you few questions.

I'm guessing Steam opened properly so i'll skip that.

So you open Games------->Half Life right?

Since it ApplName: hl.exe there is something wrong with your half life directory for setam.

Something is wrong with your .dll file. Try to find a correct one and paste it into the directory.

I have Half Life in my Game section but I never installed Half Life.

If all fails!

Try Uninstall Steam COMPLETELY.

And Re-Install. Tell me how it goes?
