IDE Cables/HD/CDrom Drive

This is handy if you have 2 HD's and 2CD drives.
HD 1 = Primary Master
:- Both on the same IDE Cable
CDrom = Primary Slave

CD Burner = Secondary Master
:- Both on the same IDE Cable
HD 2 = Secondary Slave
This way one shouldn't have a problem when copying from CDrom to CDburner
However I tried this combo and noticed that the HD IDE Cable was 150v and the CDrom IDE Cable was 300v what I don't know is if this will make a difference in overloading the cables.

The voltage rating is simply the voltage the cable will safely withstand... not relevent in this application.
When a cd-rom is attached to a hard drive ribbon, the hard drive access speed will drop to that of the cd-rom i.e. UDMA 2 at best. if you have a fast system and fast HD's, you stand to loose a lot of performance and your HD's speed (UDMA100 or whatever) will be wasted.
