video card

I need some opinions, i've searched a lot and found little. Overall, which is better, Geforce FX 6800 Ultra or ATI x800 XT Platinum? There's like about 100 bucks of difference, and the few reviews i've found say that ATI is better, but i've also read of some kind of driver problem with it. Then there's also the fact that ATI needs one slot while the Geforce is multislot. Thanks.

If i'm not wrong, the GF 6800 Ultra is 2-slot (1 slot cooler) but the 6800 Standard isn't.

The ATI driver problems were some issues with the betas that most benchmarks used to "get better performance". The new drivers are better.

Actually, both cards fare rather well, but most might prefer ATI because it's smaller.

GF 6800 Ultra is said to be "futureproof" with the ShaderModel 3.0 .

If you are going to play Doom3-engine based games, GF 6800 series gives you slight improvements.

If you're going to play SOURCE-engine based games, ATI is said to be better.

The FX because ATI decided not to include any of the new features in its card, they said "these new technology will not be used in gaming antime soon, so they left out heaps of features for their new card" who knows why? I sure dont!
