Question Looking for Vid card that supports two monitors.

I'm planning to build a new system for my home office and wanted to know if there are any recommendations for a video card that will allow me to run two monitors simultaneously.

Right now, my work involves a lot of Alt-Tabbing between open programs, documents and web sites, not to mention papers, I really want to be able to run two monitors that can show two different programs, documents/web sites at the same time.

This system would be built around Win XP Pro and would mainly be used for work, not games, so it won't necessarily be cutting edge, but I won't skimp on the mobo, CPU, GPU (video card) and monitors. I plan to have two 17-inch LCDs running this configuration.

Thanks for your advice!

You can use the Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440 chipset, 64 MB RAM, 1x DVI, 1x VGA, 1x TV-out. You can connect 2 monitors using the included DVI-to-VGA converter.

For more info about the card check the link below:

Good Luck

Just about any entry level video card can handle 2 monitors. The only thing you have to lookout fro is if it says dual monitor on the box, make sure it has 2 of the connectors that you plan to use. Some very cheap ones have one 15 pin D-sub (standard VGA) connector, and one S-Video (only for use with a TV) and they call it dual monitor. It can have a S-Video, but it also needs to have either 2 VGA connections, or 1 VGA and 1 DVI, or 2 DVI. Note that DVI can have adaptors to bring them back to VGA connections.

Or you could by two cheap display cards and then use Windows XP feature to share the monitors...if thats what you are looking for...more desktop space using two monitors...
