Help with video card

hey, i just bought The sims 2, and the graphics look blocky and the game runs so slow and choppy that it is unplayable. here are my stats for my sony Vaio i got in 2002


1.80 GHz intel pentium 4 processor

512 MB PC-133 SDRAM

80 GB Ultra ATA/100

Sony Memory Stick slot

4x AGP nVidia TNT2 M64

on the box of sims 2 it recommends a ATI radeon 7200 or greater or Nvidia GeForce2 or greater. Do i have enough here to play this game, is it my copmputer or the video card. My computer funs just fine and has plenty of free space. Ive tried ending all nonessential processes (i have windows xp) with no luck. Thanks for looking at my question and cheers.

That VGA is the bare min to run the game. You may try turning down the settings in the game.

You have answered your own question... A TNT2 is a lot slower and older than a GeForce2 or Radeon 7200.. You need a better video card for sure..
