upgrading to x800pro or xt

For this day, I know I have a somewhat slower system for the true "gamer" system.
I have an ATI 8500 graphic card, AMD 1.4Ghz Thunderbird CPU with 768 ram, an 80Mbyte Western Digital Special Edition Hard Drive with a 480 Watt True Blue Antec power supply.
My question is, will getting an ATI x800 pro or xt greatly improve the performance of my computer or is this not a good match for my system.
Would it run alright in this computer or will the lack of cpu power make the computer not work properly.
Any opinion on this. THANKS!

isleligh,

I'm slightly confused, what do you want when and how?

Try to be more specific. I think what you want to know is "Will an improvement in you graphics card help". It won't help anything in your computer speed, it may well help in your computer grahics, if you run games alot this might imrove speeds. But if your monitor can not cope with these speeds it wont.

Want some more help Help with graphic card

I was asking if it will improve my gameing experience. I read that the x800 series is very CPU hungry and with just a 1.4 Ghz CPU in todays standards would this graphic card work alright with my system. I have a good monitor, a Viewsonic CRT Professional Series P95f+. THANKS!

for your system. a high ati x series card wil bottleneck your system.

until you jump to a better CPU (recommend amd 64)

you should go for a 9800 pro
