Intel as I do a lot of video editing and in that respect Intel wins hands down, if I was to build a top gaming rig it would be AMD64 based

my first 2 systems were amds and they were rock solid. love amds price to performance ratio and yes like said before they do rule in games. but also as stated above i also do alot of video editing and such so the system i am running right now is an intel. i also got a sick deal on some of the parts so i couldnt pass it up. however when i build a pc for someone that just wants the all around kick ass computer and doesnt wanna sell their soul to get it......because i do take souls as well as cash ....i always recomend amd.

my setup:
Intel 530J 3ghz (waiting on aquagate mini to oc)
Gigabyte 8I915P-Duo-A Mobo
Mushkin L2v2 ddr400 512x2
36gb raptor (main drive)
300gb maxtor w/16mb cache (soon to be 2 in raid 0)
chaintech 6600gt pci-e 128mb
NEC 3520A
Aspire 520w psu
Tsunami Dream case (custom sound deadening internal paint)

My previuos experiences of AMD are not good, stupidly high tempretures constantly rebooting...this was some years ago though and I leave my PC on 24/7.. AMD has probably grown more reliable now days but i'll still allways go for the best. INTEL...

NO INTEL.... JEEZ

The reason is kept screwing up for you is because u probably stuffed ur computer in some crawl space or it was so full of dust, the cpu could be cooled.

Intel is for sissies.

Your quite right the CPU could be/and was cooled. ~AMD~ is thrashing this vote but i dont compare for gaming/graphics. Running a network of 50 machines, in a real-time business enviroment AMD isnt worth even mentioning.

lol well it depends on what you mean by "know what they're doing" because if it comes to oc'ing and performance then most p4 users dont overclock and dont know the first thing about it....where as mostly all amd users are in the know for their cpu's overclockability. I used to run a mobile 2800+ that i tweaked voltages and clock speeds and had her runin like a 3800+ on air cooling...40C on a full load. So ive been down that road and i still build many AMD rigs because they are truly the better value and in many areas better performers. However, Intel users tend to be using their rigs for more business or professional image and video editing and such. So in that aspect Intel users have the edge for those areas. I dont discriminate between the "evil intel corporation" and the people in the "resistance" that run amd . I think that doesnt get anyone anywhere. Use what works best for you and enjoy your computing experience.
