Yes both of those adapters should fit in the back your your DVD. The one with the 4 prongs is you power. Just plug that into the the back of your DVDrom to the respective connector. The longer I belive is your slave cord. That should also fit into the respective connector on the back of your Dvdrom. Make sure that your computer is turned off and unplugged before you work on it. You don't want to short anything out. Make sure you have the driver for your DVDrom available. You might have to do some searching online to find it if you don't already have it. Look on the side of your power supply and find your wattage. I'd reccomend at leat a 350w-400w power supply.

i'll give you the instructions i wish i had the first time i installed another drive.
1. turn off the computer, unplug it from the surge protector or outlet.
2. open it up.
3. unplug your CD-ROM from both the white ribbon and the power supply
4. pull it out of your case and look at the back. look at this picture:

the section between the red and blue is where the jumper is located. on top of the CD-ROM, there's sometimes a diagram showing you where to put that little piece of plastic to set it as master. if not, look on the underside of the CD-ROM right where the jumpers are. usually, it will have a few tiny labels that say "master", "single" and "CS". you want to put the piece of plastic where it says master. if it's already there, don't worry about it... but usually it'll be on CS or positioned in some really strange way.
5. for the DVD drive, do the same as above, but set it as SLAVE instead of master.
6. put both drives into the computer and plug both of them into the same wide white ribbon. there should be multiple connectors on the white ribbon.
7. plug both of the drives into the power supply.
8. screw the drives in and make sure they're secure and won't move around if you move the computer.
9. put the case back on.
10. boot up and if you have Windows XP, 99 times out of 100, it will recognize the DVD drive and install it automatically.

That's all.

Brian

PS- that link to that page he gave you above has a better picture. this one, right here:

Hi, If the original Drive is plugged for CS then you probably have a CABLE SELECT cable and the new drive should also be plugged for CS. The location of the Jumpers is usually stamped on the back of the drive. If not set for CS, but set for MS for Master then the Cable is non-cable select and the new drive must be plugged SL for SLAVE. Other than that the flat cable must be plugged with the color strip to PIN ONE. That's is also usually stamped on the back of the drive. If not, the color stripe is usually toward the end that the power is plugged into. Hope this helps, Jim

change boot up sequence

I think its all pretty self explanitory except this part:
If you did all this and you're computer just stalls out when you first try to turn it on, try restarting your computer and hitting F2 or the escape button as your computer is booting up.
This will get you to a setup page in which you can choose the order in which your computer will boot up.
Change it so that your dvd burner boots up after the main components of your computer.

*** question. what if you've installed everything and your computer just doesn't recognize the dvd rom and won't let you start buring stuff ect?
