+200mhz

Am thinking about upgrading my Pentium 3 and my motherboard can only take another 200mhz, will I notice a difference with another 200mhz?

Er....no. Not really. Seriously, Pentium 3 is AGES old nowadays, and you could upgrade your PC quite cheaply compared to a few years ago. Just try and get an Athlon 64 chip for a good price/performance ratio if you can stretch to it - Avoid Semprons and Athlon XP as they are also both out of date now.

I agree with Southern about noticing a difference between 2 different 200mhz cpus. Probably not enough to make a difference.
And the statement about avoiding the AMD XPs because they are outdated. I am an avid gamer online and off. The XPs may be older but with a budget in mind you would be very happy with the specs of my puter.

Well i have a box running amd athlon 1ghz and it runs perfectly. this one has an amd 64 which also runs perfectly. i htink processor type is a personal preference. and if TAPION was running a box with intel then AMD probably wouldnt fit in the motherboard anyway and if he was running a motherboard that was socket 462 then an intel wouldnt fit into that and he would have to get an amd.
