Im a bit of a newbie when it comes to networking but ive just built my first computer and its at the other end of the house to the computer with the internet connection. I have an ADSL USB modem installed on one of the computers but i want to use wireless setup on the other. I seen on a friends computer that they had the same USB modem as me. They had a wired router with its internet connection coming from the computer with the usb modem. The router was plugged into the computer via a network cable and then the connection to the other computers out of the router. I was wondering if i could have the same setup only with a wireless router??

The configuration that you described will probably work for you, too. To share the Internet from one computer, you have to enable Internet Connection Sharing through the network setup wizard. BUT, this computer will have to be on in order to use the Internet! The other way you could try is to plug in the router to the modem using an ethernet cable, then the Internet can be accessed through all computers, regardless of which one is on. That is how my network is configured.
