Question Difference in temperatures...

Here's a conundrum... When I first turn my PC on, it runs at a steady 48C going up to about 54 under heavy load. Yet if I restart the machine it'll run at about 42C (48 under load). I've checked all the processes and everything is exactly the same except the temps.

Is there any reason for this?

My specs are: AMD 64 3400 (Newcastle), MSI K8N Neo Platinum (NForce 3 Ultra), 1.5Gb DDR RAM 333, ATI X800XL AGP, 1x 200Gb Maxtor SATA HDD and 2x Seagate 80Gb HDD with XP Pro (SP2).

The software I'm using to monitor the temps is MSI's CoreCenter app.
