The AGP slot is on your motherboard, usually above the PCI slots which are a different size. I don't know why you have posted a Belarc report, it doesn't help at all. You could try adding another stick of 256Mb RAM as well as grabbing a Radeon 9600pro instead of that Nvidia card (in the last generation, ATI were better at making cards than Nvidia but the accollade has swung back to Nvidia now).

Take a look here, Belarc does give the clue to your motherboard, it is a HP Pavilion 8569A and here are your specifications, from what I can see you do not have an AGP slot but you do have free PCI slots.

ebay is the way to go man. if you want cheap video cards go there. make sure you check the description, you want a 128 or more megabyte video card. From what i understand from bookworm, you dont have any AGP slots which are those slots that look like PCI card slots cept they brown and a little thicker. You should make sure you are buying a PCI video card and not a AGP cuz well you dont have an AGP slot! If you are unsure about wether a video card on ebay is AGP or PCI, try asking the seller a question, or look at the pic of the card. AGP cards have a little hook at the end of the connector and PCI cards don't.

Here's an AGP card, look at the connector, theres a little hook at the end, if you see this that means its AGP and you dont want it, you want a PCI.

thanks, um yeah but isnt pci slower than agp? i got a real cheap agp fx5200 128mb and all that and its about time i upgraded. would it be best to just overhaul my computer bit by bit? such as first new motherboard, then maybe cpu, then ram...
and if i do do it like that, will there be any major problems that i have to watch out for?

thanks again

probably no major problems will occur. just make sure your processor fits into the slot of hte new motehrboard same with the RAM. you dont wanna buy a mobo that is uncompatiable with your components.
