4x 512mb ram or 2x 1gb ram which is better?

I'm purchasing some ram in the next couple of days and i'm just wondering which is the better way to go....Also wondering if 2gb ram makes any big difference in gaming.

I'd check your Mobo makers site and see if they have a forum, some boards don't take to well to 4 sticks, and any problems will have been discussed.

Thanx i just checked (quickly) i didn't see anything for my board that regards to ram troubles...i guess theres only one way to find out.

Any comment on 2gb ram for gaming?

Battlefield 2 is one of the only games that really LOVES 2gb, but as time goes by 2gb will probably become the norm so it can't hurt.
