thinking about upgrading processors...

p.s. - forgive my lack of intelligence, i do all my hardware upgrades, consider myself 'in the know', just don't know if my processor is upgradable b/c this PC is ancient... link here for more info...

Is your CPU slot or Socket based? I cant remember how fast the Slot based ones went. If you have a Socket based P3 then you can go as high as 1ghz (1.2 in some cases), if ur MOBO supports it, which in my retail experience, probably doesnt.

Would help if I read the 1st post properly

I would say if you can get a faster CPU cheap enough then try it (and yes Socket 370 pin FC-PGA is the information you need). You may need a BIOS upgrade, which I believe is almost impossible with an HP machine. My brain isnt working i forget what make of MOBO is in it?
