Hi folks,
I heard several bad stories in the past. 64bit Linux software can't run on a 64bit AMD box compelled to downgrade to 32bit
I'm prepared to build an economic AMD 64bit box with following configuration
ASUS Motherboard
================
A8N-VM nForce4 Ultra / microAT / SOCKET939
http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?m...l2=15&l3 =231
(Remark: my first choice, a little bid lower in price)
OR
A8N5X nForce4 Ultra / ATX / SOCKET939
http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?m...l2=15&l3 =207
CUP AMD 64 3000+ 512K
RAM - DDR400 1G (2 x 512M)
Graphic Vard (DVI connect essential)
6200
====
Gigabyte
GV-NX62TC128D GF 6200 / 128MB / DDR RAM
http://tw.giga-byte.com/VGA/Products...NX62TC128D.htm
SATA HD 80G, 7,200 8MB/16MB cache
The box shall be used for Linux software testing NOT for game NOR for graphic editing, compilation speed being essential.
Your comment will be appreciated. TIA
