can i have 1 SATA HD and 1 ultra ATA/100 HD?

can i have 1 SATA HD and 1 ultra ATA/100 HD? i have a SATA HD currently installed in my computer. I have an old IDE drive that i would like to install jsut to hold my music and other media. This hard drive is full of old and useless data, and also has windows ME installed on it. my two questions are, how can i whipe out my old drive and remove any partitions on it, and can i simply set it to slave on the IDE even though its the only drive on it (my current drive is SATA). Thanks so much!

Answer: Yes you can have SATA and Ultra ATA in one system:

Question: Is your SATA drive have operating system on it ? if so, set the jumper on the old drive to slave, and boot into Windows, just click on the drive in "My Computer" and format it. That will wipe it clean.

Cheers

Hey, Thanks so much, so jsut to clarify - if the drive is set to slave, the operating system wont boot? and also, if i dont know what type of IDE the old drive is (ATA100 or ATA133 etc) does that matter, or can decent computers handle any of them? and finaly, since the current drive is SATA, which connector on the IDE should i put the old slave drive on?? -Thx so much
