Exclamation Serious upgrade advice needed!

Come April im going to get around 400+ pounds to spend for my computer as i see fit.
Now i got my girlfriend to pay for the graphics card i choose so all i need to get with the money is a CPU, MB and memory. So the question is, what is the mind blowingly fastest gear I can buy for that price?

Is it worth going down the 64 bit/dual core route?

Thanks

Tsk tsk, such language .......

What is your preferred processor brand?

If you are going AMD Opterons seem to be the latest and greatest cpu, 2GB DDR2 and a motherboard to handle them and SATA2 would be the "quickest". Read some reviews Toms Hardware etc.

I might suggest to you to use the edit button and remove the profanity from your previous post.

Doesn't leave much money for a PCI-e video card, those prices seem high, whats the cpu worth?

EDIT: I see a lot of those Opty's in DFI Lanparty NForce4 boards on the other forums I frequent, but I have no personal experience with them.
