My First Homemade PC (budget AMD) Please Help

I've never built one before but somewhat confident I can, so Im gonna try.

Can someone suggest a better setup or let me know how this sounds?
We'll be using it for a home PC, Music, Videos, some editing, no high
end gaming but Id like to know It could kinda If I ever wanted to.
Mostly I just want it to run smooth and fast and not crash.

My Box Budget is 600.00 I already went over, so I cant tell my wife.
ANyone know of a coupon code or some $ saving ideas?

I really appreciate any opinions and advice on this. Mobo, Processor, etc..

Like the case but Still deciding between Black and Silver.

It's between these two monitors (or any other decent 19" LCD for under $200)

199.99
X2Gen MG19MY 19-inch LCD Monitor.

I'm also wondering if it'ss true that DUAL-CHANNEL 1 gig (2x512)Ram is cheaper and more efficient than a 1 gig stick.

About your case..my friend's new machine has the same case. It's nice looking and he has been carrying it around to Lan parties w/o problems.

The magnet that keeps the front door closed was kinda wimpy. He uses a Thermotake carry strap so the door will not open by accident when transporting.

He installed a 500w power supply that was a bit too long. Due to the length, we couldn't install a fan on the top of the case. I got some screws and just covered the hole with the Aspire fan grill. No heat problems.

Good luck on your build!!
