Which notebook should I get

I really need a new notebook since mine is actually falling apart.

I very much like this notebook:

http://products.gateway.com/products...d=m675x&seg=hm

However, the $2000 is about $250 more than I wanted to spend. I will buy it if y'all think it is worth it.

Thanks for the input.

Eric

well, it seems like a good system, but there are many out there, such as sharp and dell, which also offer similar pricing. if you are willing to spend that much, i would suggest staying away from gateway. since you are willing to plunk down a hefty amount of change on this piece, you would be best off building your own laptop. smaller companies give way better tech support, and often offer better hardware as amenities. check each place carefully, as gateway is certainly not the best in the field.

It all boils down to what you need......but I have a Toshiba XP tablet 3505 and it does everything except the dishes! It was expensive, bought it at CompUsa last June, but I'm hoping it will keep me happy for several years. I needed it for travel. Check it out at www.toshiba.com
its probably on sale now because its nearly a year old.

I've been tempted to build my own laptop actually. Don't scoff at the idea, it is quite possible now, I have a few friends with custom built laptops and they love them. You can get exactly what you want out of a laptop. Of course you have to figure out exactly which things to order and then you have to put 'em together yourself. Can be a mite tedious. And BTW that laptop will probably have it's price chopped in half in the next 3 months with the rate of advancement these days ><
